I’m sure by now that most of you have heard about Gerard Cosmetics. I’ve only recently learned of them through Leslie and once I saw the gorgeous colors and the glamorous packaging I just knew I had to give them a try.
So I took advantage of their Black Friday sale and ordered four colors. One of the colors (1995) I’ve been eyeing since I found out about their brand. The others took me a bit to decide on.
1995 – 1995 is a shade inspired by…you guessed it the 90’s! This color is a a great dupe for the Kylie Jenner lip that just about everyone was/is going gaga over. It’s a gorgeous nude, rose, brown all mixed into one! It has a great matte finish, yet it applies creamy and does not dry out your lips.
Nude – is a beautiful brown/peach toned nude color.
Buttercup – a gorgeous nude pink
Tequila Sunrise – a perfect peach and coral combination.
Guys, these lipsticks are the ish! The majority of them apply very smoothly and have a creamy buttery feel to them. I could just sit and literally apply them all day just for the feel alone!
I found all of these beauties loaded with nothing but pure color and are pretty long lasting. Each shade does have a matte finish, but doesn’t have the drying effect (except one) that most matte lippies tend to have. Plus they all have a matte to semi-matte finish.
The only one I was a bit disappointed with was Tequila Sunrise. Although the color is gorgeous, this was the only lipstick that did not have a creamy texture, and was a bit drying. I found that it clung to my lip lines as well as any dry patches that were on my lips. So make sure if you get this that you exfoliate your lips and that they are very moisturized.
Another thing that I wasn’t crazy about was the smell of the lipsticks. The only way I can describe it, is it having a plastic smell to it. However, it’s not a scent that lingers. I honestly don’t notice it when it’s on my lips. I basically had to hold it up to my nose and take a big whiff of it.
Other than, that I really loved the rest of the lipsticks! Like I said before they are moisturizing, pigmented, creamy, easy to apply and long-lasting. The packaging is gorgeous and is begging to be put on display (like I’ve done with mine).
Out of the four of them, my most used/favorite ones are 1995 and Butter Cup. I love them and use them just about everyday! I even mixed the two shades together and it came out gorgeous!
