To wrap up my week dedicated to nail polish. I wanted to share with you an amazing DIY Hand Scrub.
As you can imagine, swatching about 30 nail polishes in a 3 day span can be horrible for your nails and hands. Especially when you’re using 100% acetone.
Thankfully, about a week or two ago I came across yet another video by CutePolish ( I love her videos!) about a super affordable, and super simple DIY Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub. According to what CutePolish stated in her video, each of the ingredients work together to leave your skin extremely smooth and soft.
Here’s what you need:
Lemon (1 tablespoon) – “Helps to brighten skin, fade away scars/age spots and helps to exfoliate.”
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1/4 cup) – “Softens cracks in the skin, protects from premature wrinkles and keeps skin moisturized.”
White Sugar (3/4 cup)- “Helps your skin retain moisture, and is an exfoliator.”
(If you want to make a larger amount all you have to do is double the amounts.)
Take your ingredients and mix them together in the container you plan on storing it in. In her video she first pours in the sugar, then the olive oil, and lastly the lemon. Then mix it together well.
I loved how CutePolish used a mason jar, so I decided to use a mason jar that I decorated.
I wanted to go with more of a citrusy decoration, but couldn’t find anything at my craft store.
Here’s my DIY Lemon Sugar Hand Scrub!
This jar was filled to the top! As you can see, my scrub is half way gone.
One of my main concerns about making this was that it would it would go bad. But no worries, as long as you keep this stored in a cool dry place it will last a long time.
I am truly loving how this scrub left my hands super soft. I didn’t even have to apply a moisturizer!
I really love how simple and easy this was to make. I now want to find other great DIY scrubs to make.
Have you tried this scrub or know of other great scrubs to make? Please let me know in the comments down below.
