We all know that all setting sprays are not created equally. What may work for one person doesn’t mean it will work for you. This basically has to do with everyone having different skin types.
Me… I have oily skin. I’m talking super oily. Like let your soul glow, like peace, love and hair grease type skin! I’ve tried so many different setting sprays, from Urban Decay to Mac Fix + and a few others in between, but sadly, they just don’t work for me.
I’ve had luck with only two setting sprays so far. The first being theNYX Matte and Dewy sprays, and the second being the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray that I’ll be reviewing today.
I actually received this as a present for my birthday from my dear dear mommy. She knows I love my drugstore makeup, and that I’ve wanted to try this spray out.
Thinking about it, I want to say that this is the first drugstore brand setting spray. Well, unless you count NYX which just recently became available at my CVS. Now, I did find a few downfalls with this spray.
The first of them being the price! I found this at my CVS for $16.99 if I’m not mistaken. Good grief! I find that to be a bit much for a drugstore brand, especially when you can get the Mac Prep + Prime Fix + for $22. However, if we keep it real drugstore brands really aren’t that far behind in pricing than your “high” end makeup. The only difference is that you can always count on a drugstore brand going on sale (at the very least) once a month. I love my BOGO’s at CVS, plus combine that with some Extra Care Bucks! You can get it close to nothing!
The next thing being the bottle its self, I like how it has a rubber feel to it which ensures that it won’t slip out of my hands (it’s happened to me before). But the rubber casing makes for it to get messy. I’m talking fingerprints, foundation basically anything that is on your hands will be left on the bottle. I had to wipe my bottle off with a makeup wipe so that it would be clean for the pictures. Big fail!
Other than that, I’m in love with the setting spray (say it the way they say “I’m in love with the Coco”). My makeup does not budge and I will be purchasing some backups.
It has a nice clean, soft scent and comes out in a very micro-fine mist. There’s no sticky or heavy feeling, it doesn’t drench your face and dries pretty fast.
After reading the back of the bottle, I’m led to believe that they will be coming out with other sprays! What do you think?!
Have you tried the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray? Good grief! Could the name have been any longer? Just saying.
