I’m not sure how I missed that Maybelline was coming out with a new eyeshadow palette. So when I walked into CVS a few weeks ago, and saw a new display greeting me, I ran right over and knew there was no way I was leaving without this new palette.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an actual drugstore brand come out with a palette with this many shadows before.
I’m sure we all have nude palettes in our makeup collection, but in my opinion you can never have enough! Nude palettes are truly my go to palette during the week.
Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with this palette. The colors look amazing, but the sad reality is that the color pay off was a huge fail.
A lot of the colors were a complete fail. They were either way too light or a bit too chalky. I would say that the winners from this palette would be 4,7,8,9,10, and 11. All the other shades I had to pack on in order to get them to show up. Uggh, and with the black shade, no matter how many layers I tried to put on, it kept applying really splotchy. I honestly didn’t think anyone could mess up a black eyeshadow.
Like I said before, the palette itself is gorgeous and the shades could have all been equally gorgeous. I saw somewhere that Maybelline will be coming out with two more palettes. I believe they are going to be called The Brights and The Smokes. I really hope that those palettes won’t be as disappointing.
Have you tried Maybelline The Nudes palette yet? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
If not, do you think this is going to be something that you are going to pass on?
Update: I’m adding color # 1 to my list of winners. This shade makes a perfect brow bone highlighter.
