So, as you noticed this week has been all about nail polish.
I haven’t always been a nail polish lover. Matter of fact, I used to hate painting my own nails and when I did paint my nails, the polish would literally stay on until it chipped off on its own or until I peeled it off. Sad right! 🙁
Before I started blogging I only had about 10 polishes if that. My best friend was the only nail polish lover that I knew of. LOL
Then I started blogging, and as I was blogging I started discovering the wonderful world of nail art! Nail art is what started my nail polish addiction. Let’s be honest, you can’t do awesome nails without awesome nail polishes.
Needless to say, my measly 10 polishes turned into drawers and drawers of polish. Now it’s so hard keeping track of the colors that I have and gorgeous colors easily become lost in the polish sea. So when I saw CutePolish’s DIY Nail Polish Swatch Book tutorial on YouTube, I knew I had to make one.
The only thing I did not like about the swatch book, was that she used a notebook and it would be hard to add to it if you wanted to keep the colors in order by brand. I mean yes, you can skip pages in between, but who’s to say you wouldn’t run out of pages that you left blank.
I wanted something that I could refill and move pages around if needed. I immediately thought of using a trapper keeper, but don’t like how bulky they can be. I wanted something that was small and portable like a notebook.
After what seemed like weeks of searching I finally found the PERFECT thing!
I love this color because it matches my nail polish storage. I’m also still deciding how to decorate the cover.
What I love about this line of notebooks is that there are plenty of different styles to choose from and they are all very durable.
These notebooks have circular disk that holds the paper in place. It’s the paper that attaches to the circular disks! I had no problems pulling out paper and putting it back in. I was able to flip through all my pages, and not worry about any pages coming out of place.
Now on to my swatch book:
I kept all my polishes in order by separating them by brand. I then placed the brand of the polish on the bottom of the pages.
Just like CutePolish, I made my swatches nice and big, so that I can have a better idea of what the color looks like.
I’m so excited on how nice it came out. My daughter even made her own!
Now when I go to paint my nails, I just get comfy on the couch and look through the colors and see which ones would go great together.
No worries, I’m not going to torture you by showing you each and every page. Trust me, there’s quite a few 🙂
If you want to see my swatch book in more detail, or see how I made it, let me know. I would be more than happy to make a video. 🙂
