Hey Belleza’s, For a while now I’ve seen the new Salma Hayek makeup, skincare, body and haircare line at CVS. However, I’ve not yet tried it out until now. I ended up trying it because I was out of eye makeup remover (will post a review soon) and it was the only one I could find. So since all her products were B1G1 50% off, I decided to try the Rose Petal Hydrating Balm that I’ve been eyeing for a while. What drew me to this lip balm was the cute packaging. I just love the container that it comes in. It looks so sophisticated.
(Seriously, how pretty is this jar!)
Unfortunately, I would have to say that is one of two positive things that I can say about this lip balm.
I’ll start off with the scent. Going by the name of the lip balm, I thought that it would have more of a floral scent to it. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Now I don’t know if perhaps I just picked up a bad batch, but it has a weird plastic-y smell to it.
Overlooking the above, I did try it out and while it went on nice and smooth, I found it to be extremely thick. I could literally feel it sitting on my lips. Not good. 🙁
One of the downfalls of the packaging is that the top is really hard to close. You have to use a lot of force to twist and click it in place.
I’m so sad that I didn’t have great experience with the Nuance Rose Petal Hydrating Lip Balm.
Have you tried this lip balm before? If so, what were your thoughts on it?
