After seeing everyone raving about the Revlon Color Balm’s, I put them on my list of things to try. So when Donah over at sweetjellybean.com shared on her Facebook page a great sale that CVS was having on them for Black Friday.
First they were on sale for $6.99 then on top of that for each one you bought you get $4 back in Extra Care Bucks. They did have a limit of per person. There was no way I was missing this sale! I ran right out to CVS purchased 6 of them and received $24 back in Extra Care Bucks! Cha-Ching!
Here are the colors I picked up:
Demure – a light shimmery pink
Showy – a matte bright pink
Whimsical – a deep shimmery berry pink
Ingenue – a shimmery caramel brown
Sultry – a matte dusty rose
Coy – a sheer shimmery chocolate-brown
Now let’s talk about these oh so lovely products!
Let’s start off with the matte balms. When I think of a matte lipstick, my mind automatically goes to how drying it can be on my lips. However, these matte balms are far from drying.
I don’t know how Revlon did it, but they went on extremely smooth and just glided onto my lips. My lips felt very moisturized, and not dried out what-so-ever.
They are very pigmented, you don’t need a lot of layers to get full coverage.
The only downside I found was that they didn’t really last very long. I found my self reapplying it a few times throughout the day. To be honest, I’d rather reapply than have to deal with dry lips.
Now on to the Lacquer Balms! I was kind of hesitant purchasing these because I read one review where they stated that these balms were full of glitter and made the balm gritty.
I don’t mind glitter on my nails, but hate glittery products anywhere on my face. So after swatching them and trying them I didn’t find them to be glittery at all.
They all have a nice glossy sheen to them, and a very subtle shimmer. I didn’t find them to be gritty at all.
The Lacquer Balms are not quite as pigmented as the Matte Balms, but they do leave behind a nice wash of color. I found them to last longer than the Matte Balms and did not have to reapply as much.
Have you tried them yet? If so, I would love to know what your thoughts on them are. As well as your favorite color.
If you haven’t tried the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms or Lacquer Balms, I highly recommend that you do. Drugstores are always having them on sale, so are bound to find them for a great price if you’re willing to be a little bit patient.
