How many of you have yet to find the perfect foundation shade? How many of you are tired of settling for a foundation that is either a shade too light or a shade too dark? How many of you are tired of trying to find the two best foundation colors to make just the right shade?
I’m not sure about you, but I can relate with all of the above. There have been so many times that I’ve wished for perfect skin, so that I don’t have to deal with the above struggles or that I wasn’t so self-conscious about my skin. I’m telling you, I’m going to find an affordable way to effectively get rid of these acne scars.
Until that happens, I’m one step closer to getting the perfect match thanks to The Body Shop and their new Shade Adjusting Drops. Even though it still requires a bit of mixing, it’s a lot easier than trying to find the right shades to use together. The drops are available in two shades: Lightening and Darkening.
Use of these drops are super simple! When I tried them for the first time, I made sure to add only one drop at a time until I got the perfect shade. I also kept track on the amount of drops I used so that I knew how much to add going forward. Since these drops are very potent, a little bit goes a long way! So one bottle will last for quite a while (depending on how many drops you need and how often you use it).
One of the many things I love about these drops, is that it doesn’t change the coverage of your foundation. For example, I use full coverage foundation and with the addition of these drops you would think that it would “thin out” the coverage, right? But it doesn’t, the coverage actually remained full.
I find myself using the Lightening drops more often than the Darkening drops because I tend to settle for foundations that are a shade too dark. One of the things I noticed right away when using the Lightening drops, was not only did it lighten the foundation, but it also changed the undertone a bit. Being of a darker complexion, I find that most shades always have a golden undertone, which I hate because sometimes they oxidize and turn a bit orange (insert angry face). However, as you’ll see in the pictures, it actually neutralized the undertone, which in my case is FANTASTIC!
The Darkening drops can be a little tricky to use, because it is pure pigment. So instead of adding one drop at a time, it’s best to add a tiny dot at a time until you get the shade you are looking for. Or you may end up with muddy looking foundation.
Not only can they can be used with foundation (both liquid and cream); it can be used with concealers as well! Making these drops a great addition to everyones makeup table!
Overall, I definitely love these and the fact that they are affordable. The more I think about these drops, the more I think of different things they can be used for.
I’m going to play around with a few ideas to see if they work. If they do, I’ll be sure to make another post. Stay tuned!
